Congratulations and Farewell!!

Tuesday night was bittersweet with tears of joy and pangs of sadness. Why? Well, keep reading.

Good News: Chad proposed to Leah!!!

Bad News: Chad and Leah will be leaving IBC and the Hub.

Here’s the story:
On Tuesday night we welcomed back Craig from camp and Chad and Leah from their Honduras mission trip. The night began with the usual announcements and Leah shared with everyone her experiences and memories from Honduras. Following the announcements Craig (and the barefoot Craigers) led us in worship. Chad presented the message and closed out our series on “The Garden, The Cross and Luther’s Door”.

Following his message, Craig played a few closing songs and Matt invited Chad to come back up for one last announcement.

Chad made his way to the front of the room an announced that he had taken a position at Steve’s church in Corsicana as a youth pastor. His responsibilities would begin immediately. Following his announcement he called Leah to the front of the room to stand by him as he said his final farewell with a slideshow. At the end of the slideshow was a slide that read “Leah, Will You Marry Me?” Then Chad got down on one knee and asked her personally and with tears in her eyes she said, “Yes!”. It was Awesome!

Chad and Leah have tentatively set a date for the middle of August to try to settle in at Grace Community Church before the school year starts. So, they will be leaving us very soon! So, sad
